Baby Led Weaning
For several years, research and WHO guidelines have suggested that in general, babies do not need anything but milk - preferably breast milk - in their first 6 months of life. As babies of 6 months and older are able to grasp and put everything in their mouths, this is an opportunity to allow a ‘baby led’ approach where babies can experiment with texture and flavour by feeding themselves as an alternative to the more traditional spoon feeding approach.
