Annerley is a well established company offering a wide range of services for pregnant women and young families in Hong Kong. Having evolved from the former Annerley Midwives, the company has expanded from midwifery services to include a comprehensive range of courses, individual consultations and specialised services for antenatal care, the postnatal period and the early years of parenting. Our staff are trained health professionals specialising in their particular areas of expertise. The nanny agency offers fully trained and experienced nannies and maternity nurses. Annerley is jointly owned and run by Hulda Thorey and Deborah Taylor, two health professionals with many years of experience working in their particular fields. Deborah Taylor - director health visitor & sleep consultant deborah@annerley.com.hk Deborah Taylor co owns Annerley with Hulda Thorey and is the founder of Annerley Infant and Child Sleep Clinic, the first of its kind in Hong Kong. She qualified as a Health Visitor in UK in 1990 following registered general and paediatric nurse training and has been working with babies, small children and their families, with sleep as a particular area of interest, for 16 years. Deborah has extensive experience working as a Health Visitor in the UK and also lived for 4 years in Indonesia -where she helped run a baby clinic for expat mothers and their babies. Whilst in Indonesia, Deborah co founded an infant and child charity foundation specifically set up to meet the health needs of underprivileged Indonesian babies and young children. For the past 6 years Deborah has been living in Hong Kong.   Getting babies to sleep has long been her speciality and she has been working at Annerley as the Health Visitor and Sleep Consultant for the past 4 years. Deborah’s approach to helping infants and young children sleep is based on her extensive experience, a combination of up to date theories and research from sleep experts around the globe, a belief in the promotion of effective communication between a parent and child and the need of a baby to feel comfort and security throughout the transition towards good sleep. The huge demand for advice and support from parents exhausted by their baby or child’s erratic sleep habits, and those with young babies who wish to be prepared to avoid the pitfalls in the first place, has led Deborah to further develop the Sleep Clinic at Annerley. Deborah is English and the mother of 2 teenage boys. Deborah is in charge of all our baby and toddler programmes, including developmental checkups and sleep clinics.  She manages the Mother and Baby sessions on Monday and Tuesday mornings and is also in charge of Annerley Nannies, our nanny and maternity nurse agency.  Hulda Thorey - director  head midwife hulda@annerley.com.hk Hulda Thorey is an Icelandic midwife and nurse who has been in charge of the former Annerley Midwives since 2001 and now co owns Annerley with Deborah Taylor.  Hulda runs the midwifery clinic at Annerley, teaches some antenatal classes and cares for women at home after they have had their babies.  Hulda is very interested in women's and parents experiences of having a baby and works actively with families to have the most pleasant experience when their babies are born.  She has a realistic perspective on things, yet is able to inspire and be positive in a way that most parents find helpful when preparing for the arrival of their baby. Hulda works with many of Hong Kong’s obstetricians and makes sure the client has realistic expectations of the birthing process, given different circumstances.  She is familiar with work in private and public healthcare and she leads the mother and baby clinics in Razor Hill and Wanchai.  Hulda is a guest lecturer at the Hong Kong School of Midwifery.  Hulda has recently had her third child, getting some taste of how it is to be pregnant and giving birth in Hong Kong.  She has an administrative role within Annerley and is usually available for consultations in the centre on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Tamara Quinn Obstetric nurse and Hypno birthing instructor info@annerley.com.hk Tamara Quinn is a qualified Obstetrical Nurse from Canada who started working with Annerley in 2008. She has been working in the area of Obstetrics since 2001, and is involved in teaching the antenatal, and Hypno Birthing classes at Annerley. Tamara is also involved in the continuous care program and as a doula for laboring women. Since receiving her Degree in Nursing in 2001 and specializing in Obstetrics, she has worked in many settings and gained valuable experience in Maternal Newborn Care. Tamara has worked in Northern Saskatchewan, and Northern Alberta, and also a major birth centre in Calgary Alberta. She also worked in Community Health with the Post-natal program. Tamara has continued in this area because of her love and passion for helping women to have a beautiful, natural birth. Through her experiences, Tamara has gained valuable knowledge in many birthing techniques. Making her a valuable asset to the Annerley team. Dr Natalie Caves Natalie is a specialist in Anaesthesiology.  She is a Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in the  Department of Anaesthesiology in the University of Hong Kong. Wendy Sellinger lactation consultant Infant and Child CPR Instructor wendy@annerley.com.hk Wendy is an experienced Australian midwife and CPR instructor who has worked in Asia for a number of years, and since 2006 she has been living in Hong Kong with her husband and working at Annerley. Wendy is the Infant and Child CPR Instructor at Annerley, she runs our Infant and Child CPR and First Aid classes which are held one Saturday per month and she also trains the helpers on our Domestic Helper’s Course in Infant and Child CPR and First Aid enabling them to be better prepared for any emergency that may arise whilst caring for babies and young children. Wendy has worked with Annerley in developing our strong policy of breastfeeding and support for our clients. She has many years experience in supporting breastfeeding and solving breastfeeding problems. Wendy is an incredibly valuable addition to our already great team, not only bringing her experience to Annerley, but also a full commitment to breastfeeding updating and training for our team. At Annerley we can fully support the new mothers who often are rather confused about feeding, and in need of assistance just after giving birth. Breastfeeding support is an integral part of our postnatal home visits. Wendy used to live in Taiwan, where she practiced postnatal midwifery care and lactation consultancy, and prior to that she lived in Australia, where she did her training and qualifications.  Wendy is an advocate of a healthy lifestyle and enjoys exploring the Asian culture with her husband, they have two grown-up children.  Lisa Bunce NNEB (Nursery Nurse) and Infant massage instructor (IAIM) Lisa Bunce is a qualified nursery nurse who has worked in a variety of childcare settings including with families and in kindergartens. In 2004 she qualified as a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (IAIM) whilst working with health visitors in the UK and has run many massage and parenting courses. Lisa has recently joined Annerley and we welcome her as an important addition to our already great team. Lisa is a mother to two children and has lived in Hong Kong for one year. She enjoys junk trips with family and friends.   Idda Morales Bouqiren client relations & office manager info@annerley.com.hk Idda brings to Annerley her extensive experience in client relations and administration. She is a dedicated professional who has been working within the health and spa industry for the past 8 years. Idda is responsible for the day to day operation of Annerley and is co-ordinator of all our programmes and classes. You can also seek her assistance on our products and services and in organizing the best possible care from our midwives and health care professionals. Idda’s greatest achievement has been the birth of her son, Aidan Gadriel. She believes that motherhood is a complete self-awakening on how selfless one could be, and considers that the most beautiful thing is seeing your partner- the man you love- with your baby; you see it once, you see it a hundred times and still, it is the most amazing sight. Idda feels that to be surrounded by inspiring and passionate people, to be part of the pure wonder of pregnancy and birth and to witness the bond between mother and child is the most fulfilling aspect of working at Annerley. In her spare time, Idda enjoys spending time with her family, reading and dancing. She has two dogs, Chuchi and Roxy and is an advocate that having a pet is a lifetime commitment. Her other interests are marketing and sociology. She was born in Manila, Philippines and has lived in Hong Kong since she was 17.
