domestic
helpers course
Helpers play a major part
within your family unit. You rely on them to care as well for your children
as you would, when you are not able to be present. Through our
profession, we have come across many problems and misunderstandings arising
from the different cultural practices of domestic helpers and the families
that they are working with. Our course has been designed to solve
these issues and to enable the helpers to become more confident in current
childcare practices.
Our course includes:
Basic baby care and hygiene
Settling your baby and sleep
Safety and Child/ Infant Resuscitation
Nutrition
Development and Play
The aim of these
sessions is to develop and promote effective communication, use of
initiative and problem solving skills for your helper. The topics are taught weekly in 2 hour blocks over
6 sessions and each participant will receive a handbook containing all the
information plus topics to consider prior to each session. If booked
in conjunction with another package (Antenatal classes, postnatal homevisits or sleep clinic) then you will receive a 15
percent discount on the cost of this course.
The course is on Mondays and Tuesdays, 2
hours each time, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
