Natural Birth Antenatal Classes (5x2 h, evenings)

These classes are based on the HYPNOBIRTHING methods and ACTIVE BIRTH
programme. For those who would prefer to have a drug and intervention
free birth, these classes focus primarily on positive preparation, mind
and body training for natural birth and include breathing practice in
each session. There is one session that covers information on
breastfeeding and baby care.
Partners are of course welcome and they will learn ways to assist and be a part of the birth as much as they wish.
We offer some snack and drinks in all of the classes.
When: 6.30 - 8.30pm
Rough guide to the theme of each session:
1. Class: Overview of labour and birth. Language and anatomy. Common myths. Positive reinforcement. Breathing and relaxation.
2. Class: Labour, at home and in hospital. Massage for partners. Breathing and relaxation.
3. Class: Transition stage, birth and the moments after. When to go to hospital. Bearing down methods. How to have energy and stamina. Breathing.
4. Class: Breastfeeding and baby care in the first days at home.
5. Class: Positions for labour and birth. Breathing and relaxation. For women only. Please wear comfortable clothes.
ONE on ONE session with each couple is also included in the course. As soon as you finish, please book this session with one of our midwives (needs to be during daytime). In this session we will cover anything that you want to spend more time on, make a birth plan, and if you missed a class, make up for it.
For further care, we suggest parents to consider additional packages such as midwife care during labour at home, and home visit packages for after the birth.
